HAWE Cultivation Systems, part of the KUBO Group, is proud to announce its collaboration with the Spanish leader in basil production, Grupo Foodys. This established partnership focuses on the expansion of sustainable hydroponic cultivation systems, which allow for year-round production of the highest quality plants with impressive water savings of 85%, compared to other traditional growing methods.
Grupo Foodys, which have been at the forefront of the sustainable agriculture sector for many years, is known for its innovative hydroponic growing method, high quality produce and reliable supply chain. Their methods allows them to grow and supply high-quality plants, 365 days a year. A major achievement in the pursuit of sustainable food production in Spain.
Working together for a sustainable future
The cooperation between HAWE Cultivation Systems and Grupo Foodys marks an important step for further business expansion. The current project that has been successfully realized involves a system expansion in Murcia on a roughly 12.000 m2 plot. It contains the second phase, that is connected to the first phase, that has been proven successful. The system expansion has been built in an existing widespan greenhouse, as typically applied in this regio and now covers around 25.000 m2 for growing, processing and packing.
The vision on sustainability and working methods of both companies are a perfect match. This collaboration reinforces mutual commitment to eco-friendly horticultural practices and underscores their shared mission to make a positive impact on food production and the environment. Foodys-grown produce will be delivered to the local, premium, retail. Allowing consumers in Spain access to fresh and sustainably grown plants of the highest quality!
